"Winemaking is a way of life that revolves around contact with nature and a true love for the work. To produce wines from a place you need to breathe the same air as the vine, suffer the cold and the heat, and feel a sense of belonging to that place." Alejandro Vigil This week we are remembering the time we met Alejandro Vigil, a remarkable winemaker behind El Enemigo wines, who also has been Chief Winemaker of Bodega Catena Zapata since 2002. In 2009, along with Adrianna Catena, they decided to create El Enemigo wines. To achieve this they opened Bodega Aleanna in Mendoza, Argentina as part of an effort to revitalize Argentinian wine culture traditions which were being left behind. These wines quickly became favorites for many and their Cabernet Franc even went on to become the highest ranking wine on the Parker scale worldwide. He believes in making wines that are friendly and make you want to drink them, as they are meant to be enjoyed. Thirsty yet?
